Shane Cook
Shane Cook originally gained interest in the EDM scene in 1999, when he attended his first underground party. Immediately falling in love with both the Hard House and Techno genres. Shane spent the next two years learning how to mix from various friends that had turntables and set-ups of their own. In 2001, when a close friend went off to college, Shane inherited his Pioneer mixer, 1210 MK2 turntables, and an entire record collection consisting of multiple genres.
In 2005, Shane bought Serato ScratchLive which revitalized his love of mixing records due to the easy access of mp3 files in any genre. He continues to use Serato ScratchLive with a MacBook Pro, vinyl control records, 1210 MK2 turntables, and a Vestax VMC-004 mixer. Cook’s music ranges from House, to Techno, to Tech House. He enjoys high energy music but also likes his style to be “deep” to “funky.” His DJ sets are mostly progressive, starting with a more deep and minimal sound progressing up to the high energy tracks.
