Many of you have asked when we would be bringing back this stellar act to STL and now it’s finally time. DD Productions and INICIO proudly present Gettoblaster back in the Lou!!!!
Heavily influenced by the sound that has ruled the Chicago & Detroit underground scenes, but also looking to the future of house & techno, Gettoblaster has been receiving a lot of attention lately for their unique take on Ghetto House. Their multi¬faceted approach to an increasingly demanding industry illustrates their ability to evolve and succeed in the international dance scene. Gettoblaster has experienced success at an alarming rate, including having tracks played and charted by some of the Industries’ biggest taste¬makers and boasting over 10 Top 100 tracks in less than 18 months on various Beatport Charts, and spreading their wings globally with artists from more than 20 different countries supporting their music. Julius the Mad Thinker is a dynamic producer and must- see international DJ talent. Since the age of 17, Julius has worn many hats while distinguishing himself in the dance music industry. He is a true visionary with infectious energy and amazing music. His reputation for uniting music communities and launching premiere DJ music events has attracted worldwide acceptance and respect. Founder and member of FLY • Diverse House Culture • Saint Louis Luan kept the St Louis Underground heartbeat strong for over a decade bringing in a large array of out of state headliners every other week at the Upstairs Lounge. That’s right YOLO is back every 4th Wednsday here at the Upstairs Lounge, following the same principals as before.
To coin a phrase, sometimes less is more. Though I am still relatively new to the DJ Craft, one thing i’ve experienced many times and seems to be common amongst most DJ’s is that frequently when you are playing a gig and you’ve just hit your groove, just starting to feel it, suddenly your set is over. I am taking this opportunity to showcase 1 or 2 DJ’s each night and give them ample time to get after it that they might not have had in a while or at all. We will be bringing a variety of styles, sounds and a colorful cast of charachters to satisfy your musical appetites.
That being said, The Upstairs Lounge and I present YOLO every fourth Wednsday. Come out and show some love to our local talent.
This month YOLO presents Big Daddy (Stephen Shickendanz) and we will also be celebrating the Birthday of one of my most favorite people in the world, The Lovely Danae Holling. Come celebrate with us in style.
