Being the most requested DJ’s on the PGA Tour was never something Hugh Cleal and Bryan Jones would have ever dreamed of. Neither was being asked to go on tour as the official DJ’s but that’s what happened in 2013. The story of Golf Clap is somewhat of a Cinderella tale, with their debut single reaching #1 on the charts, to traveling around the country playing awesome shows including Movement (2104), Electric Forest (2014-15), Output, Verboten, Flash, Primary, Bar Standard, and Audio (SF). These Detroit bad boys have really made their mark on the game.

With the entire golf world looking to the pair for guidance, they founded Country Club Disco, a record label showcasing the playful yet sophisticated lifestyle of house music artists. It features hand-numbered limited edition vinyl runs, full apparel line, and a hand-picked team of dance floor pros. The label has since been a platform for a series of events that feature top tier artists from around the world.

Poised to shoot for the stars, their brand of humor and antics on and off the course have made them a staple on the PGA tour and in the house music scene. Having such a strong short game, much is to be expected of Golf Clap in the future. With their combination of silky smooth production and peak hour party sets, these gentlemen sure know how to make a crowd bogey down

Our good friend Jim McKibben aka Johnny 5 aka J5 is going to grace us on decks alongside Inicio STL resident and Birthday boy Shane Cook and one of our personal favorites: Trevor Matthews. INICIO’s 5 Year Anniversary – Featuring Kochi

 

My how the time does fly when you’re dancing! Here we are at a very special mile marker.

Who would have thought that 5 years ago, one small idea would evolve into such a trend setting phenomena and establish such a significant presence in the music scene, locally as well as outside the STL.

Plenty of blood sweat and tears have been shed along the way to make who we are and what we do shine amongst all the other amazing crews out there.

Being such a creative outlet, providng identity, purpose, a sense of self-worth, a stable environment for wayward DJ’s (lol), and a home away from home for us all. INICIO has drawn in some of the most innovative, stylistic, talented individuals in the Midwest to form the crew you’ve come to know.

The years have indeed been kind to us and it’s been one helluva ride. We are truly blessed to get out as much as we put in to this scene, so thank you for all your continued love and support . We wouldn’t be us without all of you.

If you’ve enjoyed the last 4 years then stick around because the best is yet to come. 2015 INICIO’s coming at you like a freight train, so get on board, sit back and enjoy the ride.

DJ Kochi has devoted himself to spinning house music for more than a decade. His signature sound of funky style house with clean mixing and smooth transition has earned him many gigs and moved many souls on the dance floor.
Born in Bangladesh, DJ Kochi grew up listening to 70’s and 80’s pop music by tuning into BBC radio. When he moved to the States in 1991, DJ Kochi was exposed to many more styles of music. He then gained an interest in genres such as euro club, trance, techno, jungle, drum and bass, break beats, funky breaks, alternative, grunge, and, of course, house music. In the mid 90’s, DJ Kochi immersed himself in the underground electronic scene by regularly attending dance music festivals and club events. Moved by the electronic music culture, and influenced and inspired by great artists, DJ Kochi quickly gained a deep interest in DJing. In the late 90’s, in his first appearance in front of a live crowd, DJ Kochi won a DJ competition in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This opened the door for him and earned him gigs all over Virginia and in the DC area. It also gave him the opportunity to open for great talents.
Today, DJ Kochi’s music career continues to rise with appearances on radio shows and at many dance scene events. His playlist covers different house sub-genres. In the near future, Dj Kochi looks forward to spending more time remixing some of his favorite tracks and producing funky tunes of his own.
