Being part of such an amazing crew we are all very proud of who we are and what we’ve accomplished. On August 19th we will wear our colors and share our pride with you……..

Also in honor of the Eclipse we recommend you wear your fanciest pair of sunglasses.

We our very pleased to welcome all the way from Charlotte NC…Sasha Taylor , who is an old tag partner of INICIO’s own Steve Tuohy. She has been breakin it down in Charlotte since about ’93 with a variety of styles including house, breaks and DnB. Steve and Sasha will be doing a special opening tag set so get there early …you certainly don’t want to miss that.

For over twenty three years Melodious Funk has been doing his part to keep the house music scene in the Queen City of Charlotte alive and breathing. At a young age growing up in the clubs, he realized he had a love for dance music and the Dj’s that moved the dance floors. Taking in all styles of music he realized at the time that the Chicago House sounds coming from Chicago was the sound that spoke to him. With early influences of Mark Farina, and Gene Farris he started to craft a House Sound of his very own. Since that time he has held residencies at the following clubs over the years: 618, Liquid Lounge, LAVA, EDEN, TONIC, and currently he can be found at SOUL Gastrolounge as well as hosting MOVE & Bassment with his Partner JLazy on Fridays @ LABEL in the Ivory Lounge in the NC Music Factory. The two have been working overtime to make Bassment a proper night for House & Techno. Over the years Melodious Funk has opened for the International Talent such as Mark Farina, Gene Farris, Mark Grant, Colette, Jesse Saunders, King Britt, Joe Pompeo, DBOW, Doc Link, EMAN, Robbie Hardkiss, Corduroy Mavericks, Real Time Hand Motion, DJ Dan, Robb Swinga, and Golf Clap just to name a few. Always pushing the boundaries of House music for the love of anything that is HOUSE!

Last but certaintly not least we are celebrating the man of the hour; the MVP of being reliable, dependable and just fucking awesome our very own :

Steve moved to St Louis a few years ago from Charlotte and found his way to the Underground and our sound…. we became close friends fast and share the same love and passion for House Music. This show is in honor of his efforts and helping us grow in all the right ways. Thanks for being Rad Steve!
