This is our first show back at our homebase of Upstairs Lounge since April and we are stoked to have our special guest Noah alongside INICIO Residents Sparkiss and your favorite bartender Dave9! Be ready for a journey of deep, tech, house and basshouse as these 3 give you the boom you been looking for!

Sparkiss (Margo Cook) is a House/Underground DJ in St. Louis. Her passion for electronic music is rooted deep in the underground scene, where learned to transform her love for dance and music to behind the decks. She emerged as a DJ in 2010 and has since brought techy and gritty sounds to local venues such as, Upstairs Lounge, The Jade Room, Escape 8 & 9, Siam, 2720 Cherokee, and The Cherry Lounge.
Sparkiss is a proud member of the INICIO family and also plays every 2nd and 4th Sunday on INICIO Presents! at MyHouseYourHouse.net.

Dave9
David Alex Claibourn, aka Dave9, is a multi-genre DJ/Producer from St. Louis, Mo. He got his start by playing in punk and hardcore bands at an early age. His bands Round2, Cakewalk, and Johnny Angel all played shows throughout the St. Louis area. His most notable band was Unbroken (voted one of the 23 bands that shaped HARDCORE Alternative Press) which came out during 2 years while he lived in San Diego, California. He is currently in the band Stabbed By Words. Around the end of the 90’s, Dave9 fell in love withe drum and bass and quickly amassed a rather large vinyl collection. He shortly joined the legendary Dedication crew (STL). He opened for many national and international acts including: Hive, Klute, Digital, Visionary, and Amanning. He was instrumental in starting the longest running DNB weekly in the Midwest – Dedication Sundays, which lasted over a decade. Since the advent of new DJ technology, Dave has expanded his sound significantly. He added house, breaks, and various forms of drum and bass music to his repertoire. In 20111, he joined INICIO and has been working on producing his tracks.

With his origins from the Chicago’s warehouse scene, we bring you Paul Anthony. This Chicago house OG has been hard at work. Being supported from some of the largest names in the industry, Paul has left his signature sound all around this world. Originally making his mark as a disco house producer, Paul Had explored many different genres in his career. Hitting number one on many outlets for dance music , which include Hypem, Beatport, Trax Source, Juno, Track it down, I tunes, and anywhere else dance music is sold. Producing a wide variety of music over his two decode career, Paul has hit top of the sales charts in House, tech-house, Indy-nu disco, Dubstep, Hip Hop and Techno. being supported for his warehouse sound by Laurent Garnier, The Advent, DJ Heather, Treasure Fingers, Sirus Hood, DJ Deeon, Olav Basoski, CZR, Laid Back Luke, Diplo, Roger Sanchez, Dave Clark, Fatboy Slim and more, It is easy to see how Paul has crossed over to many different genres. Paul has had play on Mtv2, Mtv Japan, sirus satellite radio, BBC Radio 1, FG Radio, power 106 LA and hundreds of radio shows around the world. Paul in the recent months has started on a new project called Gettoblaster which is more towards the Jackin Trax sound of Chicago/Detroit.
Working his partner Zach he has recently done projects with Robert Armani, Steve Silk Hurley, and DJ Deeon, and has remixed Armando,Ce Ce Peniston & Fast Eddie, Steve Poindexter, Frankie Knuckles, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Jamie Principle, Steve Silk Hurley’s hit record “Jack Your Body” Paul has gained some great momentum in the house and techno scene. Paul in the recent years has also had been blessed to work with Kayne West, Common, by doing a remix for S&S records for them. From Canada, to south America, to Africa, to Ibiza the depths of eastern Europe, as far east as Japan. Paul has made enough noise in his career to play on every continent. Bringing it back to his Chicago roots, Paul Anthony in the year 2015 will be bringing back his classic Chicago house sound for the world to hear!

Synathesia. It’s a neurological phenomenon where sounds elicit colors. Each song is a masterpiece of light and shading, hue and texture. For Soul Savant, it’s more than a medical curiosity – it’s a creative philosophy.
With his unique blend of House, Funk and Hip Hop, when Soul Savant spins it does more than move your body; It stirs your soul. And karma and good luck have brought his aural version of the eternal Om vibration to the St. Louis House scene.
Already a well-respected DJ on the Kansas City scene, in 2009, Soul Savant packed up his decks and headed east. In the Gateway City, his unique style quickly attracted the attention of Inicio, a collective of like-minded artists, musicians and creative spirits.
Inicio, from the Spanish word for beginning, provided him with just that – a new beginning. With the help of this new crew, Soul Savant started building a following. And the rest, as they say, is history.
In addition to his solo work, Soul Savant has joined forces with local legend Troy Dillard to form Vox and the Hound, exploring a new musical direction on the scene. Production work is forthcoming. Stay tuned for more information on upcoming projects and events.

My how the time does fly when you’re dancing! Here we are at a very special mile marker.
Who would have thought that 5 years ago, one small idea would evolve into such a trend setting phenomena and establish such a significant presence in the music scene, locally as well as outside the STL.
Plenty of blood sweat and tears have been shed along the way to make who we are and what we do shine amongst all the other amazing crews out there.
Being such a creative outlet, providng identity, purpose, a sense of self-worth, a stable environment for wayward DJ’s (lol), and a home away from home for us all. INICIO has drawn in some of the most innovative, stylistic, talented individuals in the Midwest to form the crew you’ve come to know.
The years have indeed been kind to us and it’s been one helluva ride. We are truly blessed to get out as much as we put in to this scene, so thank you for all your continued love and support . We wouldn’t be us without all of you.
If you’ve enjoyed the last 4 years then stick around because the best is yet to come. 2015 INICIO’s coming at you like a freight train, so get on board, sit back and enjoy the ride.

DJ Kochi has devoted himself to spinning house music for more than a decade. His signature sound of funky style house with clean mixing and smooth transition has earned him many gigs and moved many souls on the dance floor.
Born in Bangladesh, DJ Kochi grew up listening to 70’s and 80’s pop music by tuning into BBC radio. When he moved to the States in 1991, DJ Kochi was exposed to many more styles of music. He then gained an interest in genres such as euro club, trance, techno, jungle, drum and bass, break beats, funky breaks, alternative, grunge, and, of course, house music. In the mid 90’s, DJ Kochi immersed himself in the underground electronic scene by regularly attending dance music festivals and club events. Moved by the electronic music culture, and influenced and inspired by great artists, DJ Kochi quickly gained a deep interest in DJing. In the late 90’s, in his first appearance in front of a live crowd, DJ Kochi won a DJ competition in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This opened the door for him and earned him gigs all over Virginia and in the DC area. It also gave him the opportunity to open for great talents.
Today, DJ Kochi’s music career continues to rise with appearances on radio shows and at many dance scene events. His playlist covers different house sub-genres. In the near future, Dj Kochi looks forward to spending more time remixing some of his favorite tracks and producing funky tunes of his own.
